Visions has featured some remarkable athletes and inspired artists in the past few weeks, but Episode 14 turns the spotlight back on research. The lead story looks at the discovery of the gene for wood strength, while the second half of the episode looks at a School of Nursing trial using a sweet solution to ease pain for seriously ill newborn babies.

Episode 13 of Visions goes back to the sporting arena this week, following its successful stint on the football oval and at the Melbourne University Sports Centre last episode. Visions travels to Shepparton to take in the sights and sounds of the ASHEletics carnival, before checking out a new art prize which is looking to bring both art and sport closer together.
